This year’s Holy Week is pretty unusual in that instead of me traveling just on Good Friday to head to churches, I also managed to walk around areas in Oakland and San Francisco that I have not visited on foot before. The first part focuses on my walk around Lake Merritt towards Downtown Oakland.
On Good Friday, I walked around a portion of Lake Merritt in Oakland, in which I explored Grand Avenue, Children’s Fairyland, and Harrison Street on the west side of the lake. The churches I went to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Cathedral of Christ the Light. After a visit to the Cathedral, I headed southwest on 20th Street to end my walk on Broadway. Included below is a video from Lake Merritt’s northeast corner.
On the next post, I will describe my photo journey through Emeryville and San Francisco.
