Although AC Transit also operates in southwestern Contra Costa County, serving Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, and parts of Pinole, Contra Costa County has three distinct transit agencies that serve specific portions of the county, namely:

  • County Connection, serving the central portion of the county (Walnut Creek, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Moraga, Orinda, Lafayette, and Martinez)
  • Tri Delta Transit, serving the eastern portion of the county (Antioch, Pittsburg, Bay Point, Brentwood, Oakley, and Discovery Bay)
  • WestCAT, serving the western portion of the county (Hercules, Richmond, El Cerrito, Pinole, Crockett, and Rodeo)

Despite the three transit agencies operate independently of each other, all serve Martinez Amtrak and V.A. Hospital

County Connection

Serving central Contra Costa County spanning from Martinez to the north, San Ramon to the south, and Orinda to the west, it provides multiple feeder services to BART stations, an Amtrak station (in Martinez), an ACE station (in Pleasanton), and many attractions along the I-680 and CA-24 corridors.

Tri Delta Transit

Tri Delta Transit operates in the eastern section of Contra Costa County, serving the communities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, and Brentwood, as well as weekday-only connections to Martinez and Concord.

WestCAT (Western Contra Costa Transit Authority) serves the western part of Contra Costa County, stretching from Rodeo to the north to El Cerrito to the south, with weekday extensions to Martinez and San Francisco (through its commuter operation branded as Lynx), and its primary hub is located in Hercules.
