Westlife’s Where We Are: A Review

19 January 2010, Tuesday · Leave a Comment

I got Westlife’s newest album, Where We Are, through Amazon and it was sent straight from the United Kingdom where the band got its fame (although their origins is in Ireland). And as I listen to each of the songs from the album, here are some of my favorite songs so far, with an individual review for each one:

- What About Now (4:11) – the band’s cover song, which is a variation of Daughtry’s song of the same name. I really love Shane’s and Mark’s powerful and electrifying voices that complement the brilliant vocals by Kian and Nicky, along with the excellent orchestral music. It’s just a song you can’t just miss!

- How to Break a Heart (4:05) – An original masterpiece that really caught my attention, with Shane’s brilliant lead vocals and Mark’s incredible backing — add to that another set of excellent music — it’s just a deep, sensual song that keeps me listening.

- No More Heroes (3:59) – Another original song that caught my ears — especially that major trademarks of Westlife are present in it, which include masterful vocal harmony and unbelievably great musical score — it’s just a perfect song for reflection.

A video for What About Now is already available on my previous entry (my top 3 songs, under “Happy New Decade 2010), and for audio for How to Break a Heart and No More Heroes, both are available on Youtube.
